Okay, so my picks from last week were pretty horrible. In my defense, I overestimated Dallas', and should have gone with my instincts on Toronto FC, while tempering my hometown bias toward Chicago. San Jose's inability to finish seems to have been a temporary condition when I thought it would last longer, and I was pretty much just guessing on KC and Colorado.
I will say that my tendency toward away teams this past weekend was borne out, just not in all the games I expected, and sometimes not with victories. Three MLS teams -- Chicago, New England and Toronto FC -- started with two games on the road, and all of three of them managed to grab a win in the opener and a draw in the follow-up.
That says something. Those three squads are the early ones to watch in the Eastern Conference.
