Last week, I somehow managed to forget that I went to see Coldplay perform for The Today Show while I was in New York. Pictures are on Facebook and will hopefully be up on notabbott.com soon as well.
Despite all the random name-dropping and cultural referencing, I have to say, I could very easily follow what the awesomely-named Brent DeCrescenzo had to say about a recent show at House of Blues. Lots of critics use this sort of style, but this just struck me as particularly well-written.
I was skeptical of Time Out Chicago upon its arrival, but recently, their blog has become essential reading, making Chicagoist look decidedly minor-league by comparison. Mostly because TOC has poached Chicagoist's best talent, but whatever.
My summer of prog rock just took a hit, as Jon Anderson's respiratory problems have forced Yes to cancel their big 40th anniversary tour. Now I definitely need to pick up those King Crimson tickets, or the whole thing falls apart.
