A Good Place For Rookies

The latest MLS salaries are out from the Players' Union, and Luis runs down the numbers for the Fire. Normally, I look to see how many professional soccer players are making less money than me, but that number seems to be getting smaller. Then again, so are rosters with the untimely death of the reserve league.

No, this time I'd like to point out that rookie Baggio Husidic snapped up an impressive $97,000 in his first season, while second-year forward Patrick Nyarko clocks in at a whopping $160,000. "Whopping," of course, is a relative term, but still, that seems like a lot. Nyarko was on the brink of showing he was worth it last season before he got injured, but I'm not sure how we get almost $100K in minutes out of Husidic this season. Here's hoping he proves his value and then some.
