Injuries Mean Never Having To Say You've Been Benched

Luis is reporting that Paulo Wanchope -- whose first name I will now start spelling correctly -- is "questionable" for today's match with "knee inflammation." I'm going to go out on a limb and guess that this is a way of saving face for both Wanchope, who has played like crap, and for head coach Juan Carlos Osorio, who went out of his way to bring the Costa Rican in to kickstart the offense.

This is just a hunch, of course. I've been wrong on these before. It could be that Wanchope has been playing through injury, and it got to the point where the trade-off was obviously working against us.
