Opening Weekend Notes: Toronto at Chivas USA

Oh joy. Max and Christopher.

  • What the hell is Max looking at? Stop smiling at people off camera!
  • Christian Miles is on the field. Is MLS not letting FSC call the games remotely as part of their new deal? I hope that's the case, and they didn't just do it because the game's in LA.
  • Wait, is Welsh the Welsh international, or is Robinson? If the former, that's awesome.
  • Buddle gets up for Toronto's first real chance of the game. If he's got that kind of aerial presence, the combo with Eskandarian may be particularly potent. Not a lot of offense out of Toronto so far otherwise.
  • No sooner said than Toronto gets a flurry on net and Guzan comes up big.
  • Did someone explicitly tell Sullivan to lay off the fake Spanish? He's much less annoying than usual.
  • El Guzano!! And Lawson Vaughan is perhaps not so good.
  • Wow, that wide shot from midfield is awful. And this is a soccer-specific stadium, where I thought you'd be able to get a tigher shot. What is it about American production that gets this so utterly wrong?
  • Greg Sutton is undoubtedly the 'keeper least likely to get chipped, as Galindo just learned.
  • And here I was about to say I thought Kljestan had a disappointingly quiet match.
