Opening Weekend Notes: Dallas at Salt Lake

  • Rice-Eccles is FieldTurf, right? That ball is moving fast.
  • Ruiz is owning Forko on the left side of the RSL defense early.
  • Wow, Cunningham was just clinical on that finish. Not sure about kissing his own visage on the lips.
  • Jason Kreis' shots are apparently still tough to hang on to.
  • And Kenny Cutler got rid of the awful mustache, thank god.
  • I know after last night's Fire match (I'm on DVR duty with the rest of the games today) that people are going to point to the lack of offensive ideas, so I should be watching more closely to see if RSL, in particular, had all that many good chances. Colorado had two goals on their first two shots in their game, but I'm going to need to look at shots by team and corners by team to see if that criticism is warranted.
  • Ouch. Rimando totally blows it, but on the replay, it almost looked like the RSL defender knocked it in.
