Truth hits everybody

Well, it took him a couple years, but Greg Kot at the Trib finally saw the Sting I saw when I sat next to him at the former Policeman's show a few years back at the Chicago Theatre. He liked that show, I thought he was going through the motions, with a technically sound but uninteresting band. Reading the review of last night's Grant Park concert had a certain sense of deja vu.

Maybe it's because Kot is inundated with so much music that it's hard to get that close to any one individual artist to see the track of their career at a particularly deep level. Or, rather, to get that close to every individual artist. It's not like he doesn't have valid opinions of depth about other artists. Anyway, don't know, don't really care, but it's always good to see people agreeing with me. If you're me, anyway.
