Meta-Best Of 2002

This is going to be more of an ongoing concern than a bona fide entry, but I'm thinking that, since I never really hear a broad enough swath of music in a given year to be able to feel good about calling it the best, I'll just pirate lists from various rock critics, and point out just how much of this music I haven't even heard at all. If you're lucky, I'll do it with lots of run-on sentences like the one you just had the intestinal fortitude to slog through.

Early perusal of some lists has already gotten me over to EMusic to see if I can grab some of the non-major label offerings being touted. So far I've got Interpol and Guided by Voices, but the fun part of that is that I wasn't listening closely enough to them to even noticed when I switched from one to the other. Now, I'm realizing they don't actually sound alike at all, but earlier this afternoon, that wasn't the case for some reason.
