Divine intervention

Okay, so apparently Creed has had to juggle and postpone some concert dates, due to leader and messiah-wannabe Scott Stapp developing laryngitis, allegedly from too aggressive of a tour schedule. When you factor in that the modern rock blowhards have had to adjust dates due to Stapp's throat problems for three years running, and then saw the singer get in a car accident earlier this year, you have to wonder if someone is trying to tell him something. Perhaps his aspirations to be a Christ-like figure have monumentally pissed off the real man upstairs. Wasn't "tour delays due to laryngitis" one of the biblical plagues?

In other not-touring news, Chicago-based Filter has had to cancel the rest of the band's dates in 2002, as lead singer Richard Patrick checked himself into rehab. I sincerely hope it helps, as anyone who has read more than one interview with Patrick can see he has some issues he needs to work through. Despite his penchant for both grandiose and absurd overstatement, he has turned out a fine piece of work with his bandmates in The Amalgamut, released this year.
