Timing Continues To Be Everything

As the impending Sarah Palin book starts to suck all the oxygen out of the newsroom, I can't help but wonder if President Obama has deliberately timed both the Afghanistan troop decision and Senate health care deliberations to happen right in the middle of her media blitz.
This would either allow both of those big, important things to get ignored by pretty much everybody as they talk about Sarah, Sarah, and more Sarah -- which would allow them to be treated more seriously than they would if subjected to the relentless, instantaneous news cycle -- or the importance of those issues might actually dial down some of the Palin coverage. Either way seems good for the White House, and would be exceedingly clever if it were intentional.
