A Seat At The Table

NP: Houston Dynamo vs. Seattle Sounders

It was probably inevitable given the state of transition in the media landscape and the quality of their work, but it's nice to see Josh Marshall of Talking Points Memo invited to an off-the-record lunch with the President. Politico is maybe the obvious new media choice of the bunch, and I'm a little surprised that the Huffington Post wasn't included, although HuffPo is a more wide-ranging effort than just political coverage.

If anything, this confirms to me that TPM and Politico are going to be organizations to watch as that media landscape evolves.

As a side note, I love that the source for the Politico story about a lunch meeting that involved a Politico reporter was described as "a source with knowledge of the event." Did Michael Calderone just ask somebody in the office where Mike Allen was at lunchtime?
