The Way Washington (Doesn't) Work

Sean Quinn over at FiveThirtyEight.com notes in great detail how members of the Washington press corps are expressing surprise that President Obama is doing what he said he was going to do. If this administration can do anything to chip away some of the entrenched conventional wisdom and groupthink coming out of that bunch, it'll be a win.

I'm not even saying that as an endorsement or critique of the budget itself. It's just the inanity of the questions that is, unfortunately, not at all surprising.
