Come on, who else would reaffirm their loyalty to the Bears at a campaign stop in Green Bay, Wisconsin? And will anyone in the national media pick up on this? Maybe Olbermann. Compare and contrast with John Kerry's infamous "Lambert Field" remark in 2004. Or Rudy Giuliani's bizarre dalliance with Red Sox fans.
If this notion of being a "different kind of politician" needed an easily digestible anecdote for regular folks who aren't ultra-engaged political insider types, this would be it.
