NP: John Cage, 4'33"
I wouldn't say I act like a "normal" 37-year old. If I were to take a guess, I'd say my "emotional age" is more like a 30-year old. It just so happens that I've been playing drums now for thirty years to the day.
On some level, this idea that at least certain aspects of my life didn't really start until I picked up a pair of drumsticks has tremendous appeal, and not just because it gives new context to when certain things happened in my life.
But mostly because it gives new context to when certain things happened in my life. Do the math, as they say.
I feel like I can get away with this sort of claim now because it's not like there's such a huge difference between 37 and 30, but there are some key aspects to it that are pretty meaningful, particularly with regard to when I feel like I'm ready to slow down a bit.
30 years on, who gets Greg Natic his coffee?
Heh. I think Greg actually gave up coffee a bunch of years ago. He's always had this health nut streak in him, which is funny, because he's always complaining about his health, and we would tell him that he'd feel much better if he just ate a slice of pizza.
I either lost that t-shirt at some point, or it got washed and dried into oblivion. I remember wearing it for the Smithereens show, and the entire road crew knew exactly what it was all about.
