Shirley, They Can't Be Serious?
NP: Jane's Addiction, Nothing's Shocking
While I'm as appreciative as any of a profile of the brains behind Airplane!, this Washington Post article makes it sound like they were responsible for the entirety of the Scary Movie franchise, when they've only been on board since the third installment. IMDb backs me up on this. The first two came mostly from the Wayans brothers in terms of both writing and direction.
I don't even remember if I saw the first two movies, but trailers for Scary Movie 3 actually piqued my interest, which eventually made sense when I realized who was behind it.
Which reminds me -- I haven't gotten my inflatable "Otto the Autopilot" from the DVD offer yet.
