A bad day to be a celebrity

First, Sammy gets caught with a corked bat, and now Martha is finally going down for the IMClone deal. I have to say, I'm liking my relative anonymity at the moment.

I'm not sure what to make of the Sosa flap. I guess if the rest of his bats do come back clean, and for all I know, they may have already, his story of picking up a practice bat sounds more credible, although given the relentless news cycle of sports radio, it may already be too late. This should be interesting to watch, just from a media perspective.

And, to keep beating that "media consolidation is bad" drum, it will be interesting to see how the Tribune covers the story, and whether or not that starts a bit of a war between, say, WGN and The Score. Perhaps more importantly, it will be interesting to see how the LA Times covers the story, as well as any other non-Chicago Trib holdings.
