A Real Preview From A Fake Coach

Really good stuff on the imminent MLS season from Fake Sigi. On the Fire front, I can't say I disagree with the point about Carlos de los Cobos' learning curve. Some of what I'm hearing about him reminds me way too much about previous coaching flop Juan Carlos Osorio. As for being overrated, I'm not sure who's doing the overrating, although I guess I've seen one preview putting Chicago at or near the top of the East.

The big question used to be whether or not Brian McBride and Collins John (and/or Patrick Nyarko) could get good enough service to score the goals everyone knows they're capable of. Now it's whether or not de los Cobos' jettisoning of veterans over younger players will turn out to be a liability defensively, because Jon Busch was not the only guy to lose his spot in the starting lineup. I'm not saying it won't work, but that we don't know.
