Not only did Michael Bradley give his dad, U.S. national team coach Bob Bradley, a goal for Father's Day against Egypt as part of a 3-0 win, he gave some choice words to all the "experts" who have been heavily criticizing his team's and his father's efforts.
Going into the match, Bradley the elder was much more diplomatic about it, admitting that it just "goes with the job," but I have to figure that Michael is online more often and hears more of the calls for Bob's head, so I'm not surprised that he's angrier about it.
UPDATE: Ives has the full, much more colorful quote from Bradley, who did not refer to "experts," but "fucking experts." Nice.
Let me take a woman's point of view...husband forgets the birthday and Mother's Day, then remembers the anniversary and expects everything to be A-OKAY.
Any reasonable woman would say, "Nice effort...but let's see if you can keep this up."
Hey Michael, I love you and your Dad, and since I love our country and our sport so much, I would love for you to "keep this up."
If you do (show a spirited, gut-wrenching effort toward success), I may see you as committed to our relationship. If you don't, I may put my attorney on speed-dial.
