Mailing It In

First, my "Chicago Fire Game Summary" got trapped in my spam filter. I don't think that's ever happened before. Second, it was titled "Chicago shutouts Real Salt Lake, 2-0." Shutouts? Really? Someone gets paid to write this?

No other egregious errors I could find in the release, but also not much in the way of content. Certainly a big step down from previous game summaries, which gave some blow-by-blow highlights broken down by minute. It's almost as if the person writing the release didn't actually know all that much about soccer. Perish the thought.

While I'm feeling particularly bitchy, it seems that the Fire schedule has disappeared from the team's website, at least in Firefox. Haven't checked it in IE.
