Dealing With Dallas

FC Dallas just traded Richard Mulrooney to Toronto. Simo Valakari retired at the end of last season. And new acquisition Adrian Serioux, listed as a defender in the first place, is injured.

Meanwhile, an alarming number of Chicago Fire preseason matches have featured Ivan Guerrero, Diego Gutierrez, Chris Armas and Logan Pause all starting in the midfield, while the forward line is looking mighty thin.

Logan Pause for Roberto Mina. Now. And this is coming from someone who is a Logan Pause fan. Heck, I'd even part with Diego, but then we'd need a draft pick, too. They're thin at d-mid and we're thin at forward. This is a no-brainer.

UPDATE: Word on the street on the Dallas BigSoccer Board is that this might be making room for Shalrie Joseph and his demand to be traded from the Revolution, which makes a fair amount of sense. I'd still pick up the phone if I were John Guppy.
