The End Of An Era, Again

I'll admit, I got a little choked up reading the accounts from Matt Pickens and Dave Sarachan about what training camp has been like without longtime Fire goalkeeper Zach Thornton. It may be premature to say that getting chipped from 60 yards by Dwayne DeRosario ended Zach's career, but it was clearly a turning point, and that's unfortunate given the Delaware native's history with the club.

On the bright side, it looks like there may be a gig to be had for Big Zach in Utah, especially if the long-rumored Jon Conway-to-Toronto deal happens.
