WC2006: The Transformative Power Of Media

MAINZ (12:16pm local time) -- Did the tourist stuff early today, which meant a visit to the Gutenberg Museum. Now, I know the Germans have their weird fascination with Hasselhof and "Country Roads Take Me Home" - which I heard performed by a marching band in town early in the afternoon - but a whole museum for the guy from the Police Academy movies?

Okay, that was a long way to go for a joke. I'd say I'm sorry, but I'm not, really.

Anyway, lots and lots of old books and printing presses, and a bit of a worldwide history of print, from what I could tell, as the vast majority of signage was in German. When you consider the effect Gutenberg's printing had on the world, it makes for a very interesting counterpoint to the Warhol exhibit from yesterday.
