Missed Opportunity

The Fire released their (its? I never understood whether team names should be singular or plural, and I'm disheartened that my cellphone carrier made me thing I spelled "singular" wrong) 2005 schedule last week, along with the following quote:

"We hope that the two-week delay in the home opener will allow for better weather," said Fire President and GM Peter Wilt. "This schedule is still susceptible to change due to the potential conflicts with the NFL schedule and other events to be scheduled by Soldier Field. All changes are expected to be completed by early April when the NFL schedule is announced."

Did I miss something? Did Peter really say that, without tagging on "and we look forward to opening the Firehouse in Bridgeview in the spring of 2006, when we will no longer have to accomodate the Bears," or something like that? Come on, Pete, you're slipping. Stay on message! Bridgeview! 2006!
