Any Chance Collision

Congrats to Salt Lake City. Personally, I like the "big fish in a small pond" element in MLS, at least as part of the total picture. And since the Jazz were originally in New Orleans, they should steal the name of the current basketball team in the Big Easy, the Hornets. Ties in with the Beehive State thing, too.

Last week I said the Fire would do well with four points out of the home-and-home with the Revs. That's still attainable with tonight's match, so it's too early to be disappointed with Sunday's result.

Finally, the Tribune needs some new copy editors. On the one hand, "Fire seeks spark, victory on the road." On the other, it looks like somebody wised up and re-titled the Cubs story, wherein they, too, needed a spark, because I can't find it.

They also need to perhaps mention a sporting event with nearly 40,000 people expected to attend the day it's going to happen, but that's a whole 'nother can of worms. I wish I had a picture of Peter Wilt in the Soldier Field parking lot on Sunday with his copy of the Sunday paper, and I'll leave it at that.
