"A political version of Anderson Cooper up against a Bill O'Reilly repeat?"

There was a longer piece assessing President Obama from Andrew Sullivan a month or so ago, but this one is pretty interesting as well. The contrast between Obama and Palin strikes me as particularly compelling, and reminds me of how so many people respond to histrionics in general, because they somehow equate that with depth of character, kind of like how over-the-top acting performances grab everyone's attention (i.e., Angelina Jolie in Girl, Interrupted or Heath Ledger in The Dark Knight). Or how sports fans want a coach that throws things, if I may tie things back to the Chicago Fire coaching situation.
