Josh Marshall has a nice piece up on the comparative intensities of the primaries and how they may (and may not) have prepared the candidates for the general election.
While it does feel like one of those situations where a competitive conference final makes the final look like an afterthought, I'm sure there are plenty of times when that sports analogy didn't work out for the winner of that conference final. I'll leave it to Kenn to find examples, because he's really, really good at that sort of sports research.
