A Day Late And A Dollar Short

NP: Mike Doughty, Golden Delicious

Joe Klein doesn't like the tone coming out of the Clinton camp, and I don't really blame him. But the bigger problem, for me, is that this preys upon the combination of short attention span, general inattentiveness (whether due to disinterest or being too busy) and institutional stupidity of the average American. Why? Because Barack Obama came pretty comprehensively clean on both counts, with his interviews on Friday about Rezko and his speech the other day about Wright.

This is the aspect of "Karl Rove politics" that infuriates me, in that it deliberately exploits the uninformed masses for their uninformedness, and while some of that is the masses' own fault, that's not always the case.
