Curious

NP: The New Pornographers, Electric Version

Kevin Drum not only flags a new study that casts doubt on the effectiveness of some anti-depressants, he notices that it's getting much more play in the U.K. than here. Maybe it's because it only popped up as the top story on my Reuters feed about three hours ago, but it might just be some latency between Europe's press deadlines and ours, and not some pharmaceutical cover-up. Not sure if that's naive benefit of the doubt, but while I know the pharmaceutical companies have a lot of influence, I'm not sure if it extends to the media, but then again, I don't watch any of the "news" programs that show "special reports" on, say, restless leg syndrome.

And now that I've mentioned the phrase "pharmaceutical cover-up," that plus my domain name is going to fuel Internet searches to convince someone somewhere that I'm some sort of anti-Abbott Labs crusader. Which, of course, I'm not.
