Parody Of The Highest Order. Or Office.

Ana Marie Cox rightly wonders where the parody is in Stephen Colbert's announcement that he's running for president. My guess is that it's not the announcement itself, it's the candidacy, particularly if and when he beats out establishment candidates. Technically, I think it's more subversion than parody, which is consistent with the subversiveness of Colbert's persona as it stands.
