This plan to spray pesticides on the Afghan poppy fields seems like trouble, if only because it could roil Afghanistan at the exact point when we really don't need to be starting any additional trouble in that part of the world. If Bush keeps this up, he may bequeath dangerous instability in Iraq, Iran, Syria, Afghanistan, Pakistan and maybe even Turkey on whomever follows him into the White House. Am I missing anybody? Maybe the weak GOP field is intentional.
