Christmas Comes Early...For My Mechanic

My car has been paid off for five years now, so I can rationalize the annual bill for upkeep. Usually, it's between one and two grand, and I take it in around November. This year, I've got to replace the shocks, charge the air conditioning and replace some transmission parts now, so I'm hoping this is in place of and not in addition to the checkup at the end of the year.
