Could the tide be turning against the robot uprising? I managed to revive the "now playing" tag on the blog, and my new phone can actually snooze an alarm for more than 5 minutes. Things may be looking up! Do you hear that, balky hard drive? I'm coming for you!

Yeah, this whole thing has me a little loopy. The very patient folks at EndPCNoise.com have been witnessing my coping mechanism firsthand, which is to flail around a lot in a semi-panic until I get a full sense of the problem I'm dealing with.

Once I realized I was doing it, I realized I do it a lot in one form or another -- usually just bitching about things in order to give them some substance so I can visualize the problem and start to brainstorm solutions. It generates a bit of hot air in the process, but it's almost an unconscious thing for me to embark upon.
