Okay, I'm just amused that the Trib is breaking the story that Lou Piniella will be the next Cubs manager, and attributing it to unnamed "major league sources."
I would need all the print versions to see if the Sun-Times actually scooped them on it, which would be beyond hysterical. The S-T piece is pretty long, and there are a couple of columnists weighing in as well, but the paper doesn't have that handy little "print edition" link that the Trib does now puts behind a subscriber firewall, because they don't want to make getting their news convenient unless you already get their news.
The Trib looks like it went to press with a "will he or won't he" piece, but you'd have to imagine they're less likely to go out on a limb and say it's a done deal, although the risk of following on the story would seem to be equally big.
