Bracket Update
NP: Faith No More, Album Of The Year
I gained a lot of ground, but that's more due to other co-workers' brackets than mine. I can still get 13 out of 16, 7 out of 8 and 3 out of 4 in the next couple of rounds, as well as the championship game and the overall winner. So maybe I was too quick to bury the algorithm, especially since it had most of the teams who got upset -- Oklahoma notwithstanding -- losing in the next round, which is maybe more likely to happen to the upstarts who knocked them off, Wichita State notwithstanding.
The other nice thing is that the straight statistical model keeps regional sentimentality out of it, namely with regard to Michigan State and Illinois, whose exits I got exactly right.
