I may have just realized something. It's not that I don't know what I want, it's that my history of actually getting what I want is somewhat spotty at best, so I have -- either consciously or unconsciously -- decided to work with what I'm given instead. I have no idea if there was some sort of precipitating event, or what, but the more I look at it, the more it stands out across all sorts of things.
Damn you, self-awareness.
