NP: Filter, The Amalgamut
Since I'm going to see U2 toinght, I took the train instead of riding my bike to work today. Since I'm leaving for the United Center right after work, I didn't bring the iPod -- although I'm guessing those would be more than welcome at a U2 show, and it would be funny seeing everybody dancing with them when the band plays "Vertigo" -- or any reading material.
You know where this is going, right? As a last resort, I actually grabbed a free copy of Red Eye, featuring Chicago's own Marty Casey on the front page, as he makes his last stand tonight on Rock Star: INXS. Yes, I've been watching. Yes, I'm more than a little curious as to how it turns out. Yes, I would have liked to see them go against type and pick a female singer.
And no, I wasn't expecting a friend of mine -- who apparently goes to public viewings ("Marty parties") of the show -- to be quoted in the article. So that was mildly surreal. I'm not sure if I would want to squander any of my eventual fifteen minutes of fame being quoted about reality television, but then again, I'm not sure you get to choose. So way to go, Zig.
Posting is likely going to be light this week, as I've been devoting energy to cleaning up the design of the site, and I'm leaving on Thursday for San Diego.
