My Old College Roommate

...has me completely figured out. In an excerpt of his new "pamphlet" over on Kevin Drum's site, Rick Perlstein -- my first-year roommate at the University of Chicago -- makes the following observation, among others:
Here's a riddle: what is a swing voter? More and more, it is an American who thinks like a Democrat but refuses to identify as one.
I like to think I'm not so easily reduced, but he's certainly got a point. Which isn't to say I'm not going to look for potentially embarassing photos from college, because he's trying way too hard to look cool in the one Drum posted with the excerpt.
