NP: Tony Williams Lifetime, The Collection
The hits just keep on coming this week. Driving in the rain yesterday morning, I opened the vents to the outside air to keep my windows clear, then forgot to close them when I parked and headed off to work. When the temperature plummeted about twenty or thirty degrees, the result was that I couldn't open the hatch, and could barely get my doors open. Sor some reason, I adamantly refuse to learn my lesson on that count.
And this becomes problematic when you're trying to load and unload drums. Fortunately, the bass drum fits in the side door if the seats aren't all the way down, otherwise I'd have been completely fucked.
I eventually got home to find large chunks of the ceiling in the living room deciding it was opposites day and trying on the floor for size. Being out all day means I have no idea how and when that will be addressed, but I moved the loveseat out of the immediate area in order to make it easier for someone to hopefully work on it, hopefully today.
This morning, the litany continued with barely warm water in the shower again, moving on to spilling coffee on my hands -- which I guess wouldn't have been so bad if I were still outside at the time, but I wasn't -- and finally seeing a couple of things at work that once again have me questioning what the hell I'm doing here. This has been one of those Nietzchean, mettle-testing, character-building weeks, I guess, with the renewed focus on working out nearly guaranteeing I'll come out of it stronger.
It's funny how little bursts of bad things seem somehow much less significant in comparison to, say, all of 2003.
