The Washington Post points out that Al Qaqaa's explosives constitute something like 0.06% of munitions in Iraq. While there's certainly some merit to the argument that there were a lot of explosives in the country, and we couldn't possibly secure all of them -- although there's an undercurrent of insufficient troop strength there as well -- I'd really like to see the breakdown in terms of explosive potential. A pound of artillery shells do not seem nearly as potent as a pound of what left this particular compound.
