NP: Party Shuffle (iTunes)
After being so proud of figuring out the likely culprit for my home networking woes, it turns out (a) I was wrong and (b) it's a known XP bug. I'm a little annoyed that despite four calls to Netgear technical support, none of them knew this was already identified as a problem.
Also, the whole (USB) HotSync issue was, in fact, tied to out-of-date software and drivers for my (SCSI) ZIP drive. And the Service Pack 2 XP update, which will allegedly fix the network adapter problem, will likely clobber ZoneAlarm.
Are these guys trying to make the case for Linux? What is it with companies making such strong cases for their competitors, anyway? I feel like I should pick up some stock in Red Hat and DirectTV.
