I'm typically the biggest critic of the Chicago Tribune, and their ceaseless attempts to "dress up" the news to make it more interesting, whether than be the inordinately lame RedEye, or their daily Daywatch e-mails. The latter, in particular, would rather give you snarky headlines and no substance than actualy news, which can get awfully annoying. Yes, I know that ad revenue depends on traffic to the website itself, but other reputable papers give a lot more information in their electronic missives, so it's not like that model can't work. The Trib just chooses not to give you much in the way of actual news in your mailbox.
Except, sometimes the snarky headlines can be funny. Today, they linked the story about Canada reducing penalties for marijuana possession with one about Krispy Kreme earnings being up 47 percent. Schwing!
"Money for Nothing" killed last night at Vaughan's. Did well at Goldie's, too. This makes me happy, even in the face of the cold shoulder I got, or at least think I got, earlier in the evening.
Eventually, I may say something about my little sister's visit over the weekend, but I didn't actually see that much of her. Which is a story in and of itself, but not necessarily for me to tell.
