A few points of contact, and suddenly things aren't looking as grim as they were earlier in the week. Although it would have been much better if Congress had actually extended unemployment benefits another thirteen weeks, rather than extend the extension for another six months.
Anyway, with the job market being what it is, it's always encouraging when you come across positions that describe you to a T. I've found two of those in the past week or so, and threw out some applications today, which is always a nice boost of the self-esteem, at least until four or five weeks later when they haven't responded.
Then, with the music side of Plan B taking a hit earlier in the week, the voiceover part made important progress. I'm about halfway through making my demo "reel," which is proving to be a whole lot of geeked-out fun, and it looks like I've got the pole position for the Chicago Fire radio campaign over the summers. That should give me the opportunity to hit the ground running, which seems to be the best way to enter that market by far.
And, you can't have a good week without a little controversy. I'm being pilloried over on USSoccerUK.com for some rather innocuous comments made about the guy who runs it. Big misunderstanding, if you ask me, and I've stated my case as such. We'll see if they buy it.
It's the cult of Bergin over there. Scary scary stuff.
