[drumming diary] Anniversaries

Okay, so I've been going through all kinds of receipts in order to get my drums properly insured -- only a year after the last time my car got broken into -- and I realized that the green Signia kit celebrated its 10th birthday on the 26th of last month. Although that was just the day I bought them. I don't remember if they had all the drums in stock, as I distinctly remember at least the floor tom getting backordered.

Meanwhile, the 7th of November marked the 29th anniversay of my first drum lesson. I think I've told this story here before, but the reason I know this is because I had my first copy of George Lawrence Stone's Stick Control for many, many years, and 11/7/77 was the date written on the first page. And, as any drummer knows, that first page of Stick Control is one of those things you can keep practicing year after year after year.
