[drumming diary] What's Next, Freebird?

I regret to inform you that we played "Stairway to Heaven" at Vaughan's last night. In our defense, it was a weird, almost dancehall acoustic version, if you can imagine what that might sound like, and it was more like a joke that wouldn't die, at least as long as Tony kept remembering the words.

Then there was the small matter of Anto leaving his full beer in a somewhat precarious position. Which, let's just say, ended up being much less precarious in the worst way possible.

Lots of "old school" open jam tunes last night, including "The Drugs Don't Work" and "Higher," which might make it into the electric set. I'm not thrilled about that, but hey, we mostly know it already, so it's low-hanging fruit. Anto also wants to add a Sugar Ray tune, which points out the persistent oddity that the Americans in the band want to play British and Irish bands, and the Brit likes the American stuff.
